Doctor Strange 2: 10 Cameos Reddit Wished Were In The Movie – Screen Rant

Reddit users had a wishlist of characters they felt it would have been great to see in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
When Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was filming, rumors were coming out all over the internet about various cameos that could appear in the movie. Now that the movie is out, there was a lot less than what some had expected to see.
While a number of people seem to be happy with how Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness turned out, Reddit users had a wishlist of characters they felt it would have been great to see.
Reddit user cgcs20 mentioned how he would like to see The Watcher show up in the latest Doctor Strange film. Introduced to the MCU in the What If…? animated series, Uatu The Watcher is a being who can observe all of space and time. Even though he’s not meant to interfere, he united heroes from across the multiverse to stop Infinity Ultron from destroying it.

Since the Watcher’s most significant interaction in What If…? was with Supreme Strange, it does seem logical that The Watcher would be seen by the MCU’s Doctor Strange as well. While it would have been fun to see Jefferey Wright reprise his role, it did not come to pass in the final film.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home in the rearview, and Sam Raimi in the director’s chair for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness, Fringo_GG believed Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man should have made an appearance. Audiences last saw the character helping Tom Holland’s and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men defeat various multiversal villains before being sent home.
With Sam Raimi being the one to explore the multiverse, it probably did sound like a plausible cameo to expect. There’s even an ad that involves the pizza place Maguire’s Peter Parker worked at in Spider-Man 2. Hopefully, Raimi can team up with Maguire again someday, perhaps in a 4th Spider-Man film, but not this time.
Even though Hugh Jackman hung up the claws with Loganamdawg23 still believed he should return again in Doctor Strange’s multiversal adventure. Since the marketing gave Patrick Stewart’s return away, Wolverine seemed like the logical next step. The Reddit user even mentions that he’s “Probably one of my favorite characters in marvel.”

Unfortunately for amdawg23 and others, Xavier is the only mutant to appear in the Doctor Strange sequel. Should Wolverine appear in the MCU down the line, it will most likely be a new actor in the role.
With all the rumors of various legacy Marvel actors returning to their roles surrounding the film, _JD_48 was really hoping to see Chris Evans reprise his role as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, from the early Fantastic Four movies. Since Chris Evans went on to great success as Captain America, it no doubt could have been fun to see him return to this role as a clever nod to long-time Marvel movie watchers. Fantastic Four is one of the best Kevin Feige-produced movies not in the MCU after all.
Audiences were pretty sure the Fantastic Four would factor into this film in some way, but it wasn’t clear if the entire team would make an appearance. Sadly, no other member of the Fantastic Four shows up in the film and judging by what happens to Mr. Fantastic, that might be for the best.
Reddit user Totally-not-a-hooman makes it very clear what cameo he wanted to see in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He specifically says “Deadpool. On the john, reading a Dr. Strange comic.” This surely would have been a very funny came to include in the latest MCU film.
Audiences have been curious about how Deadpool would be introduced into the MCU ever since it was announced that a third film was coming. Certainly, some felt the best way would be to incorporate him in some way in this film, but Deadpool fans are just going to have to wait a bit longer.
The ending of Iron Man saw Rodey, at the time played by Terrence Howard, look at an Iron Man suit and exclaim “next time baby”. That next time never happened, though, since Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2. But UnderlordZ thinks Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could be the best place for him to return.
Rumors of a potential Iron Man cameo in the new film had audiences wondering what other actors could reprise a role they didn’t get to reprise initially. Perhaps somewhere in the multiverse, there is a world where Terrence Howard wasn’t recast, but it wasn’t a world that Doctor Strange saw.
Nicolas Cage is a beloved actor that is happily going through a renaissance currently. Potentially because of this, Reddit user Anxious_Bee_6571 believes that Cage should have gotten to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider in this newest film. The last time audiences saw the character was in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
While the two Ghost Rider films aren’t as beloved as other Marvel films from that era, seeing Cage as Ghost Rider would have been a major nostalgia hit. Ghost Rider and its sequel will probably not make the top of Nicolas Cage’s best films, but Cage was fun in the role none the less.
One of the standout episodes of What If…? was “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” In this episode, Strange loses Christine in the car crash and attempts to grow more and more powerful so that he can bring her back. But as his power grows, it begins to corrupt him, until he causes the entire annihilation of his universe.

Reddit user Oliviaistired777 believes this is one of the What If…? characters that should make an appearance. The last MCU audiences saw of him, he was watching over Kilmonger with the Infinity Stones in a prison of his own making. While there is an evil Strange in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it did not end up being this one.
The ending of WandaVision sees Wanda accept the role of the Scarlet Witch. After defeating Agatha Harkness, she puts a spell on her that traps her in the fictitious role of the nosey neighbor in West View. While a spin-off for her has been ordered, it hasn’t been revealed what happened to her after.
Reddit User abbylovesx felt that it would have made sense for her to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While the film’s villain ended up being Wanda herself, Agatha seemed like an important role that was set up for an appearance in the film. Perhaps since Agatha’s powers were visually the same as Wanda’s it didn’t make sense for her to return.
Robert Downey Jr. would go on to define the iconic role of Iron Man. From the first film to Avengers: Endgame, his character was beloved by millions. In a different universe, however, Tom Cruise got the part instead. Early in the casting process of Iron Man, Tom Cruise was the front runner for the role before it went to Downey.
Reddit user ckutasy, like many, believe this would be a wonderful opportunity to see what that Iron Man would have been like. The movie introduces a version of the Illuminati team, comics fans were sure an Iron Man variant would be seen. While it would have been a fun cameo for sure, sadly it did not come to pass.
