Thriller starring Orlando Bloom, Andie MacDowell being filmed in Kentucky. What to know – Courier Journal

British actor Orlando Bloom is back in the Bluegrass State, this time working on a film with actors Andie MacDowell and Garret Dillahunt
You may remember the “Lord of the Rings” actor starred with Kirsten Dunst in the 2005 romantic dramedy “Elizabethtown” about a man who returns to Kentucky for his father’s funeral and falls in love with a flight attendant he met on the plane. Many scenes were shot in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Otter Creek Park, and locations throughout Louisville including Highland Middle School on Norris Place in the Highlands neighborhood and The Brown Hotel downtown.
Bloom’s latest film titled “Red Right Hand” is being filmed in Campbellsburg and New Castle, Kentucky, and in various locations in Jefferson County.
The action/thriller follows Cash (Bloom), who is trying to live an honest and quiet life, taking care of his niece Savannah in the Appalachian hills of Odim County. When the sadistic Queenpin Big Cat (MacDowell), who runs the town, forces him back into her services, Cash learns he’s capable of anything — even killing — to protect the town and the only family he has left.
As the journey gets harder, Cash is drawn into a nightmare that blurs the lines between good and evil.
