The Toledo Police Department got a surprise photo op from Tom Hanks during his movie filming on Thursday.
The police department posted on Facebook a picture with the Oscar winner with the caption “Look who stopped by for a moment.”
Hanks has been filming for his movie “A Man Called Otto.”
The movie starring Hanks is directed by Marc Foster, who is best known for his films, “Monster’s Ball,” “Finding Neverland,” “Stranger than Fiction” and “The Kite Runner.”
The movie has been filming in Ohio and Pittsburgh, even officiating a wedding.
The bride, Krisna Poznik, said she had a connection to the filming because the crew put a catering tent in their yard.
“I wrote a letter. I knew Tom Hanks was an ordained minister. I thought that may be the perfect opportunity to ask him,” Poznik said.
Poznik said he was as wonderful as everyone says he is, down to earth, sweet and very kind.
“I thought, what could be more special than having Tom Hanks officiate your own wedding, right?” Poznik said.
It wasn’t the only wedding Hanks has been a part of since filming in Pittsburgh.
Another Pittsburgh area bride got a huge surprise on her wedding day when Hanks walked up to her and her bridal party and asked if he could take a photo with them.
